Saved by Grace

I have written this poem to express what being saved by grace means to me. I hope you enjoy it.

I claim to be saved by His grace.
I say I am no longer a slave
To the law or my sins or my shame
These I have overcome in Jesus name

His life was untainted by sin

Yet He gave it up at the cross
He did such a difficult thing
Whilst we were sinners still

I no longer need to try so hard
To work for my salvation like it was a task
His blood will cover my sins
If I just confess and humbly ask

I cannot brag about my righteousness
Because I don't work for my salvation
The only things I brag about
Are His love and His perfection.
